Yesterday evening was Zander's very first baseball game. He was so excited about it all day long. During the game he hit every time he was up. Surprisingly, he was a switch hitter last night. The first time he went up he hit left handed then the next two times he hit right handed. He did great in the field, he knew to stay in his postition whereas most of the other kids just wanted to run to wherever the ball was hit and fight for the ball. Finally the coach assigned who was going to get the ball when it was hit so Zander was able to field a couple balls.
Afterwards we went out to eat at the Windjammer for a celebration dinner. Zander said as we were going in to eat..."people are going to see me in my uniform and say, he's so cute". LOL
That's all everyone kept saying at the field was how cute they all were. Which they were adorable out there in their little uniforms.
Ashe had his first game Monday, sorry don't have any pictures for you. Bud and I are coaches, so it was a bit difficult to take pictures. But Ashe got a triple in the game and our team won by one run.

Da Da Da

This morning Arya was very interested in Daddy while he was in the kitchen, so I kept telling her to say da da da. Surprisingly she did! She started out just making the motions with her mouth and eventually she got some sound out and before we knew it she made the da sound. I gave her to Buddy and grabbed the camera, of course she immediately stopped. It took us a few tries but we finally caught her on camera!

A side note.....our big girl turned 7 months old on Sunday!

So proud of our young man

Yesterday Ashe took part in his first Color Guard Ceremony. The Sea Cadets Color Guard presented the colors at the college graduation ceremony. They did a fabulous job, we were so proud of them!

Zan's water day

Zander's sure start class did a water day for the kids on Friday. They had different stations set up for them There was the wading pool, water balloons, bubbles, a water table, and a slip n slide. The kids had a blast!

Zander the fish

Zander is in second set of swim lessons so far this summer. It took a week or so for him to get comfortable in the water again but now he is swimming like a little fish. Yesterday he swam 8 times back and forth the width of the pool and one time the length. He was exhausted but very proud of himself. They also worked on diving, as you can see in the video, he still needs some practice with that. LOL

Sea Cadet Ceremony

Thursday evening we went to Ashe's first Sea Cadet's ceremony. He was presented with an academic award and a one year ribbon. He was also advanced to an apprentice cadet because he passed his advancement exam several weeks ago. We were very proud of him for that. He studied hard for it and was the only one to pass on the first time taking the test. The instructors are looking into Ashe's record, they believe he is supposed to have a 2 year ribbon and possibly another ribbon. Unfortunaltey his records were misplaced so there is some confusion with that.

Ashe is taking part in his first color guard ceremony Sunday, so watch for pictures to come of that.

My adventurer

So as you can see after this photo gates have gone up. She has been getting braver venturing further around the house. As much as I try to keep her in the living room where there is soft carpet and no dog hair all she wants to do is crawl down the hallway to get the dogs and into kitchen. Today is the first time she noticed the stairs. She crawled right over and sat on her knees for a minute just looking up there, probably wondering....hmm...how will get up there. Then as you can see in the picture she tried to figure it out. So after the aww this is cute and snap the picture gates are up and fun time is over. LOL She was okay with the first gate going up blocking the hallway but when I closed the gate to the kitchen she didn't like that at all.

Our Little Baby Doll

Arya loves empting her basket of toys. The other night she pulled out all her toys and so we put her in the basket to see what she would do.

So then she started pulling all the toys in the basket with her. Now that she is crawling her toys don't always hold her attention as long as they did before. She finds it much more interesting to explore around and go after the doggies than to sit and play with toys.

Sunny day at the pool...

This week we have off from swim lessons. They start back up next week so we decided to hit the pool with some friends anyway and keep practicing. I took the camera and was able to snap a picture of arya in her little bathing suit just as we were getting dried off to leave. Ashe and Zander are doing great swimming. Arya seems to enjoy the water too. I will make sure I take more pictures of them all in the water next time we go.

Easter Sunday

This Easter Sunday started out with Ashe and Buddy going to the sunrise service at 6:45am at the beach. I couldn't bring myself to get Arya and Zander up at 5:30 to make it to that service, they would have been grumps all day had I done that. After that service they came home and we hid all our easter baskets and then found them all. By the time we were done with that we went to church for the 11am service. After church we came home and hid foil chocolate eggs throughout the house. Bud and I hid eggs for Zan and Ashe to find in the front of the house. Zan and Ashe hid eggs for Bud and I to find in the back of the house. It was fun! Then we hid plastic eggs outside for the boys to find. After all the egg hunting we had our weekly bible study and then it was ham for dinner. Once dinner and baths were over we played a couple games and off to bed it was. Spring break is over for the boys. :(

We had a great spring break and Easter though!
Arya also surprised us by getting in the sit position from her belly all by herself!!!! She also has no problem moving forward now. She still isn't a pro at the official crawling thing but she no longer only goes backwards and in circles, she can definitley go forward now. Oh boy......

Happy Easter!

We went to the annual GTMO Easter Egg hunt on Saturday. It was a lot of fun. The boys did their egg hunt and then they had an egg hunt for the adults too which Bud and I both did. Each category had three golden eggs, unfortunatley none of us found the golden eggs but we all had a blast. There were little games that Zander did, like tic tac toe and toss the rings on the bottles.

Perfecting her mobility

Arya has been mobile for quite some time now. She easily scoots backwards and turns herself and recently started scooting even while sitting but now she is determined to do the real "crawl". About two days ago she kept getting up on her hands and knees rocking back and forth. She tries to take a couple moves forward and then looses her balance. In no time at all I will be chasing her through the house, joy, joy. LOL

Find Me

Arya loves playing with both of her brothers. One of her favorite games is to play "find me" with them while she's in the rocking chair with us. They hide behind the chair and then go from side to side surprising her. She watches carefully waiting to see which side they are going to pop out from. She does good figuring out that if they were on one side she knows to look on the other side for them.
